1926 Phantom I #6YC Open Tourer by Windovers for the Maharajah of Nanpara.
Phantom I #6YC was off-test on 03 July 1926. It was ordered by Syed Muhammed Sa'adat Ali Khan (1904-1973), the last Maharajah of Nanpara. Nanpara was a small state in the North of India (pop. 42,700 in 2001) and the Rajah was actually an orphan who had been adopted by the reigning family. When the Rajah Muhammed Sadiq Khan died in 1911, Sa'adat became the new Rajah. And by marrying the Rani of Mohmadi's daughter in 1923, he inherited the whole state ! The subsequent history of 6YC is unknown until 1980 when it resurfaced in a French museum. After the closure of the museum, it was sold to Switzerland and eventully to Hans-Günter Zach, the famous German industrialist who has a private museum containing about 20 Rolls-Royce cars, five of which once belonged to Rajahs.
